This Month's Tip:
Be Different and Sell More!

Whether you're selling an idea or a widget, many graphic arts projects exist for the sole purpose of conveying a message. If you don't capture the attention of your audience, you won’t sell anything! There is no better way to set yourself apart from the competition than by bringing fresh new graphic design ideas to market. Let Diecrafters help you stand apart from the crowd through the innovative use of foil stamping.

The term “foil stamping" is extremely misleading because roll leaf products are available in a much broader range of treatments than the term implies. In addition to a multitude of colors and finishes, "foil" goes well beyond the metallic treatments that this term conjures. Consider the following:

  • Metallic Foils – Traditional gold and silver are the most common, although various shades of red, yellow, blue, green, purple, black and others are available.

  • Pigment Foils – These also come in a wide selection of colors and are available in matte and gloss finishes.

  • Tint & Pearl Foils – Tints offer a unique, subtle appearance that creates shadow effects that add class to any image. Pearlescent foils are available in pastel colors and allow images to show through, thus "pearlizing" it to create a look like no other. Used in combination, tints and pearls can put your presentation in a class all it's own.

  • Holographic Patterns & Clears – An array of holographic patterns as well as different colors of holographic foils are available to make your image catch everyone's eye. Clear foils are available plain or with a pattern. When placed on uncoated materials it appears to be a spot coating or varnish that didn't soak in!

  • Special Effect Foils – Rainbows, snake skin, wood grain, floral patterns, marble, leather, brushed metal... You name it, special effect foil is available in so many different looks, it's a crime to call it foil!

Of course, all of this will require some effort and coordination – all the "awesome" designs do. If you plan ahead and work with the right finisher – that would be Diecrafters – you'll find the results of your efforts will be well worth the investment. Allow us to assist you in working with your print sales representative, designer, print buyer, pre-press or pressroom staff to achieve the results you want. We can help educate your team in methods that will set your message apart.
